How We Verify Giveaways

A verified sweepstakes listing needs a named sponsor, official rules, prize value, closing date, eligibility, entry frequency, and a recorded verification date. We distinguish these records from sponsored promotions. A source check describes what was checked at that time; readers should recheck the sponsor’s current terms before entering.

These checks apply to independently verified sweepstakes records. Sponsored advertiser offers are a separate catalog and may include signups, trials, subscriptions or deposits. An inventory check is not a payout test or independent verification. This page is the standard we use, and it is also the checklist you should use before giving any company your details.

How we screen these listings

Named sponsor: A real giveaway names the company responsible for running it. If the entry page hides the sponsor or only uses a famous brand name with no company behind it, treat it as unsafe.
Official rules: The rules should state the prize, approximate retail value, entry period, eligibility, winner selection method and how odds are determined. Missing rules are the strongest reason to walk away.
Free entry: A US sweepstakes must be free to enter. No purchase necessary is a legal requirement, not a courtesy. Any fee to enter or claim a prize disqualifies the listing.
Reasonable data request: An entry form can reasonably ask for contact details. It should not ask for payment card numbers, bank logins, one-time codes, PINs or tax details before a win.
Prize and tax reality: High-value prizes can create tax paperwork, and physical prizes are taxed on value rather than cash received. Our prize-tax guides explain what to check before accepting a prize.

Automatic rejection signs

A fee, shipping payment, insurance payment or tax payment before a prize is released.
A required app install, download, subscription, deposit, gambling account, loan or credit-repair flow.
No company name, no official rules, or a page pretending to be a brand without saying who runs the promotion.
A request for a card number, banking password, sign-in code, PIN or Social Security number before you have won.
A promise that a gift card generator, cash generator or unlimited code tool will create money.

What we cannot verify from a feed

Live offers rotate and may disappear before a page revalidates.
Advertiser feeds do not establish an independently verified sweepstakes. Without the required source record, a sponsored promotion is not labeled verified.
Extra Profit does not run the draws, choose winners or receive winner names from sponsors.

Verification records and their limits

The verified directory requires a named sponsor, official rules, prize and approximate retail value, closing time with a time zone, eligibility, entry frequency, and a date when the record was checked. Incomplete or expired records do not appear as live listings. We do not create sample promotions to fill an empty directory.

Article verification labels state their scope. Checking an answer and its source links does not mean every promotion mentioned is currently open, or that a human editor has approved the draft. A pending source check has no verification date. Dates are stored with the record and never refreshed just because the site rebuilds.

Sponsored feed promotions are separate from the verified directory. An affiliate feed is not proof of sponsor verification. Read the current official rules before entering any promotion, and report broken or misleading claims through our contact page.

That limitation is why the site does not publish a fake winners wall and does not promise that entering will solve a money problem. A giveaway is a chance, not income.
