Privacy policy

What we collect from you

Nothing that identifies you personally. There is no login and no form, so there is no name, address or payment detail anywhere on this site. Our web host keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses, for security and to keep the site running.

We do use Google Analytics to see which pages people read and which giveaways get opened. It sets cookies and tells Google your approximate location, device and the pages you viewed. We use it to decide what to write next, not to identify anyone, and we do not upload any customer list to it because we do not have one.

You can opt out entirely with Google's official browser add-on, or by blocking analytics in your browser or an extension. Nothing on this site breaks if you do, and we would rather say that plainly than bury it.

Advertising

We show ads through Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies, local storage and similar browser technologies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites, which is what pays for the site being free.

You can turn off personalised advertising in Google's Ads Settings, and opt out of third-party vendor cookies at aboutads.info. Ads still appear, they are simply less targeted. Nothing here breaks either way.

The click identifier

When you open a giveaway, we add a random identifier to the outgoing link so the company running it's network can tell us that an entry was completed and pay us for it. The identifier is random, generated fresh for every click, and contains nothing about you. It is not stored against a person because there is no person on file to store it against.

The unlock page

One page on this site, /unlock, loads a script from our advertising network so it can show you a list of giveaways and tell us when one has been completed. It runs only on that page and only after you press the button, never anywhere else and never on its own. It sets a cookie recording that you unlocked, so you are not asked again the same day.

What happens when you click through

This is the part that matters. Once you leave this site you are on a company's page, under their privacy policy, not ours. Entering a giveaway normally means giving that company an email address, and sometimes a name, postal address or phone number, so they can contact a winner. Most companies also use it to send you marketing, and many share it with partners. That exchange is what pays for the prize.

We have no control over, and no access to, anything you give a company. Read their privacy policy before entering, and use an email address you are comfortable receiving marketing on.

Your rights

Rules such as the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights to see, correct and delete personal data held about you. We hold no account records, because there are no accounts, so in practice there is nothing of yours for us to return or erase beyond the analytics described above. You are welcome to ask and we will tell you the same thing in writing. To exercise those rights against a company, contact the company running it directly using the details in that giveaway's official rules.

Children

This site is not intended for anyone under 18, and the giveaways listed are generally open only to US residents aged 18 and over.
